Business Studies

Aims

The Business Studies Department strives to give students a well-rounded understanding of the business world.  We encourage the students to take an active interest in what is going on in the outside business world.

Teaching and Learning

Students are taught to understand the business world and the required context of the course. There is a great stress on the students developing their ability to look at a business situation and provide the business owner with the appropriate advice. Students complete tasks in class within the context of group work and individual work

Assessment for learning

The students are assessed in class and are given homework every week, which the teacher marks and provides feedback on either Closing the Gap sheets or as a comment at the end of their work. All of which links into the students individuals tracker on the front of their business class books

Home Learning

  • Writing, analysis and persuasive skills
  • Individual and group work, research tasks and projects

Show my Homework – all home learning activities will be published by individual staff members on the Show My Homework website which can be found by following the link on the school’s homepage. Students and parents can access this through their accounts or by filtering the results.
